Spring is just around the corner Brothers. A time for change to the weather patterns and new growth. OK, you have heard that many times before, but it does remind me of the Master Mason degree conducted in our lodge last evening.

Traditionally degree work, especially the more difficult positions, were undertaken by Masons who have been in lodge for a longer time. They had more time to rehearse the parts and thus were more prominent in those roles. That’s not the case anymore. Last night, one of our newer Master Masons took the role of King Solomon and did a fantastic job. I enjoyed watching him have fun with the role and taking a very active part in the degree. Well done, Brother David! You have a bright future in front of you.

Forest Lodge #130 is poised for much degree work for the balance of 2018. There are 3-4 candidates for the Day of Light later this month and several candidates working their way through the degrees one by one. Our lodge room is filling, and we have been meeting weekly for either stated meetings or degree work. Many lodges cannot say the same. It is time for our fraternity to embrace the change of season within it.

Talk about Masonry and offer the Day of Light to those that are not able to commit to the traditional method of receiving degrees. Listen to the news of the day and you will see and hear clearly why the world needs more new Masons now more than ever before. Do something good for someone else today, brothers. And don’t ask for anything in return. It will come back to you. Jesse

I look forward to seeing you in Lodge,
Jesse Furrer
