Greetings from the East!

It certainly feels like this Lodge year is going by way too fast, and there is hardly enough time to get everything done. But we’re having a good time trying, aren’t we?!

As summer approaches, we will not have any stated meetings during the months of July and August. However, our lodge will continue to be active: we will not officially be dark, rather we will be dim. Posting of candidates will continue, and special degree communications will be sent when we need to confer any degrees. We need to keep our momentum going! Remember Brethren, we must support our new Brothers of the Lodge in their endeavors through their degrees, as all have done before us. We still have a few new men who are interested in Masonry and are being interviewed at this time.

Congratulations to Brother Kyle McBath who was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason in Forest Lodge on May 4th. We also have additional degrees coming up soon – watch for additional information on those degrees.

A special thank you goes out to Brother Barry Diehl, who has served as Secretary and Treasurer of Forest Lodge for several years. He stepped down as Secretary of our Lodge at the end of 2021, and stepped down as Treasurer effective May 1, 2022. Brother Kevin Sorenson was elected by the Brothers to serve as Treasurer for the remainder of the ensuing Masonic year. Brother Matthew Meyers was appointed to replace Brother Kevin Sorenson as Senior Steward for Forest Lodge. Thank you Brothers!

A special evening was held on May 18th at our Ladies at the Table banquet. 30 Brothers, ladies and guests were present for this special time, where we were able to honor our ladies and widows. All ladies received 2 roses during the ceremony, in which toasts were made to several of the ladies in attendance. Each widow in attendance received a widow’s pin, which contained a broken column surrounded by acacia leaves. The broken column is the emblem of the fall of one of the Brothers of our Craft, and represents the end of our earthly life. The acacia leaves symbolize eternal life. This pin is an emblem of our continued concern and honor for the widow of a Brother Master Mason.

See you at Lodge!
Sincerely and Fraternally,
Rick Schnabel
Worshipful Master, Forest Lodge #130
