Greetings from the East!
Drum roll … ….. ……. trumpets, PLEASE!
It is with a heavy heart that I started working on my final Trestleboard for Forest Lodge. And while I was sad to descend those three steps in the East one final time as Worshipful Master on November 16th, I take solace in the amazing, forward-thinking leadership that our lodge has in its future. I feel a deep sense of gratitude that you, the members of Forest Lodge, allowed me to serve you as Master during this past year. I hope that I have served you worthily, being faithful to the trust you reposed in me. This has been the greatest honor and privilege bestowed on me as a Mason. Because of you, I have become a better Mason and a better Man. And I am eternally grateful, to you, for giving me the opportunity
to serve you. I had a great time, and I hope all of you enjoyed your time as well this year. We were busy with a lot of work, but we also had plenty of time for fun, and extracurricular activities to join in on as well. My personal thanks go out to the entire Lodge, for your support and contributions during this past year. Without it, the work of the Master would be much more difficult to accomplish. And without the support of my wife Deb, I could not have completed my Masonic duties in the East.
I want to congratulate all of the new officers that were elected on November 9th, to serve Forest Lodge in 2023. I look forward to seeing all of you in your new stations and places in January!
I would like to welcome and congratulate our newest Entered Apprentices, Brother Ross Kramer who was initiated on October 24th, and Brother Jacob Mertzig who was initiated on October 26th. May your journey be full of Masonic Light and Brotherly Love.
I want to say how amazed I was with all of our new Brothers who completed their Entered Apprentice, Fellowcraft, and Master Mason examinations in Lodge this year. As I sat in the East watching their proficiency, or stood face to face with them as a mentor, I was impressed, not just with their ability to learn the work, but also the gleam in their eyes. There is nothing more satisfying than knowing that a Brother understands the ritual, and has dwelled on its lessons.
Congratulations to Brother Barry Maxfield on being named Mason of the Year for Forest Lodge in 2022. This award was presented to Brother Barry for his high standards of friendship, fellowship, Brotherly love, and service to the craft. He has demonstrated a willingness to serve, not only in Forest Lodge, but Masonry in general. This is one of the highest honors any Mason, in any Lodge, can ever receive.
Forest Lodge is having a holiday party on Friday, December 9th, at the Living Room on Main in Mosinee. More detailed information is found later in this Trestleboard. I hope to see you all there!
That’s all for me folks! I wish you all a great holiday season. Next year you can find me sitting on the sidelines. Stick
around, I know we’re going to have a wonderful time.
See you at Lodge!
Sincerely and Fraternally,
Rick Schnabel,
Worshipful Master, Forest Lodge #130
