Greetings from the East!
Summer is quickly drawing to a close. I hope all of you have had the opportunity to spend it enjoying the sun and warm temperatures. But the days will be getting shorter, the air will be getting cooler, and before we know it we will be smack dab in the middle of the fall colors. But as the daylight may be getting shorter, the light in Masonry will be back on in Wausau as we return to our usual meetings. I for one am looking forward to it, as I have missed the comradery that Masonry provides!
The members of Forest Lodge did exactly that during the summer. We had a unique twist on our summer picnic. Rather than a traditional get together, we enjoyed each others’s company at a Wausau Woodchucks game. Thank you everyone for turning out. It was a great time and maybe we’ll be able to do it again in the future!
The year has been going by quickly and it doesn’t seem like that long ago that we were getting started with the Masonic year. During our time we have had new Entered Apprentices initiated, Fellowcrafts passed, and Master Masons raised. Sadly, as we have had new masons join our Lodge, we have had others lay down their working tools and travel to that undiscovered country from whose bourne to traveler returns. Some of these Brothers had requested that a Masonic memorial service be a part of the ceremony to celebrate their lives. Please be sure to let someone know if you wish to have one and the Lodge will assist in making that happen.
As we move forward through the rest of the year, on of my goals is to show what other opportunites the craft provides for making further steps in Masonry. I hope to see you all there and that you see what else Masonry has to offer beyond Blue Lodge.
