Greetings from the East!
Surprise! Another message from me, I have not given up the East just yet!
Forest Lodge’s Installation of Officers was scheduled to be held on December 14th, but due to inclement weather, it had to be cancelled. Installation of Officers will now occur on Wednesday, January 4th, at 7:00 PM. Hope to see you all there!
It’s another new year once again, and another bright start for each one of us and our Lodge. I hope everybody had a wonderful holiday spent and celebrated with family, friends and loved ones. It seems like December just flew by! This time of year, is important for many of us, as we set goals and resolutions for the new year. What kind of goals have you
set for yourself in the Lodge? Is there a particular part of the ritual that you would like to learn? Is your goal to become a more active Lodge member? Is there a friend that you would like to talk to about becoming a Mason? I hope that you will resolve to reach out to Brothers who you may not have seen or spoken with in the past couple of years to reconnect.
I have been able to make many such calls over the past year, and they have been some of the brightest moments of my time in the East. I am grateful for the light the men in this Lodge provide in my life, and for the light, we are able to provide to our community.
Looking back, members of our Lodge helped the Wausauken Shriners at their annual Breakfast with Santa on November 26th. It always takes a lot of people to make this event a success, and I want to especially thank Brother Steve Peterson and his lady Mary Ellen, for all of the effort that they put into this project. We had a good turnout, and everyone had a good time. There were many children walking around with painted faces, and the Elf Shelf was full of activity, as children were able to shop for their family and friends. All net proceeds from this event go to the Shriner’s Children hospitals.
Our Lodge holiday party was on December 9th at the Living Room on Main in Mosinee. It was a lot of fun, and we enjoyed lots of pizza and snacks to eat. Most of all, we enjoyed the company of everyone who attended.
On December 17th, flowers were delivered to the widows of our Lodge to remind them that they are very important to us, not forgotten, and that our Lodge is always there for them when they need any assistance. Thanks to all of the Brothers who helped to deliver those flowers.
As we start the new year, I will miss wearing the hat, apron and jewel as Worshipful Master of our Lodge, but I know I’m leaving Forest Lodge in better, more capable hands than ever. Looking to the bright future of Forest Lodge, I’m excited to see what all of our newer members will bring to the table, and confident that the craft we all love will continue to grow strong. Thank you all, my Brothers!
See you at Lodge!
Sincerely and Fraternally,
Rick Schnabel,
Worshipful Master, Forest Lodge #130
