“April showers bring May flowers” is a rhyme we have heard many, many times. This phrase has an obvious meaning: April, traditionally a rainy period, gives way to May, when flowers bloom because of the water provided to them by the April rains. The proverb paves a way for the changing of the seasons, but also serves to remind us: without rain, a flower will have difficulty growing.
Like many traditional proverbs, there is also a second, hidden meaning: A period of discomfort can provide the basis for a period of happiness.
The work of an Entered Apprentice is much like the rains of April. There is a shower of information that our newly initiated Brother needs to absorb and understand to be properly prepared for the beauty of becoming a Fellowcraft. There is a defined sequence, a Fellowcraft who lacks the knowledge of an Entered Apprentice is a fragile flower, indeed.
This month we will practice the Fellowcraft degree on April 10th, and confer the degree on April 17th. Please take the time to review this degree and reflect upon its lessons.

Wisconsin Valley Shrine Auxiliary
On April 12, 2013 the Wisconsin Valley Shrine Auxiliary will meet for a noon luncheon and meeting at the Elks Club. The program for April will be presented by Diane Abitz, Executive Director/Program Director for Stable Hands Therapeutic Riding Program
