Well, my Brothers, we certainly started this year off with a bang. On January 18th we raised Brother Jason Tidd to the sublime degree of Master Mason. He already says he’s ready for his examination except for the obligation! (and by the time you read this he may know the obligation as well—he’s a quick study). I must say we had an excellent degree conferral that night. All of the officers took their new stations for the first section and did a very good job. For the second section we had help from Br. Barry Maxfield of Virginia Falls Lodge and Br. Rick Schnabel from Mosinee. A number of brothers from Rhinelander came that night and took the traveling gavel home with them.
On the 24th a few of us went up to Virginia Falls Lodge in Merrill to help with their EA degree for Br. Colin Fowler. The EA degree was a joint effort between Merrill, Mosinee, Rhinelander and Forest Lodges. Forest Lodge members participating were Roger Hancock (SD), Jim Carlson (JD) and Dan Maguire (JS). Br. Kurt Lis was also in attendance. The Brothers from Rhinelander delivered the traveling gavel to Virginia Falls Lodge and a good time was had by all.
At our next stated meeting (February 1st) we will continue the momentum by reading one petition and voting on another. If all goes well, we will have an EA degree of our own on February 15th. We may throw in a visit to another Lodge if the opportunity presents itself–watch the Lodge website (wausaumasons.com) for updates

Wisconsin Valley Shrine Club meets every Friday for a noon luncheon at the Wausau Elks Club.

Scottish Rite Club
Meets for breakfast at 7:00 AM 1st, 3rd and 5th Wednesdays at Perkins.
Wisconsin Valley Shrine Auxiliary
Wisconsin Valley Shrine Auxiliary will meet Friday, February 10th for a noon luncheon and meeting at the Elks Club. The program will be presented by Jayna Hintz, Education director at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum.
