Wausau Trestleboard
October 2010

Hello,
We have another busy month planned. I hope that there are things contained in here that will be of interest to you. Our budget committee reported last month on their recommendations as to what we should do. Many options were reviewed and in short, we will be aggressive moving forward. There was a motion made and seconded at the last business meeting to raise dues for the 2012 year. Discussion and a vote will be at this coming stated meeting on 10-6-10. This is your chance to come and be heard and vote accordingly. Also, we now have our own web-site for our Lodge. One of the primary benefits of this medium is to cut our postage of the Trestleboard by a considerable amount. Those who wish to keep receiving it through the mail will, but those who prefer to receive it electronically can go to www.wausaumasons.com and all information along with updates, photos, Master’s message etc will be available. Another issue to address is the Brethren who are in arrears. If you are having difficulties with the payment of your dues please know that we understand and contact the Secretary/Treasurer Brother Roger Hancock at the Lodge (715) 845-5198 and accommodations can be made. If it slipped your mind, which these things happen as time gets away from us all, please take this opportunity to get paid up. If you have had a change of heart as to your membership/affiliation with us, let us know that as well. We are paying a considerable sum just in per capita tax that comes right from our accounts with money not coming in from Brethren in arrears. We cannot continue like this.
On a lighter note, there are events outlined in the calendar that I hope will be of interest to you. The 2nd Wednesday, we will have a family outing at Iozzos Italian restaurant for dinner and fellowship (Dress is business casual). Space is limited so we are taking RSVP’s on a first come, first served basis. Please call the Lodge at (715) 845-5198 if interested. We will order from the menu, the Lodge will write one check and each will pay his/her share separately to our Secretary/Treasurer and the end of the evening. Also, there is a district meeting at our Lodge on Saturday October 16th at 12:00 p.m. with a social hour at 4:00 p.m. and a catered dinner from Annie’s Café at 4:30 p.m. Cost is $10.00 per person. Ladies welcome. Call the Lodge at (715) 845-5198. There is also a joint event with another Lodge from our area on Saturday October 30. A chili contest and pork roast at Evergreen Lodge #93 in Steven’s Point to raise funds for the Lake Masonic Center that was vandalized this past winter. Cost is $10.00 per chili entry and for those not competing, $5.00 at the door. Winner takes home 20% and the rest will be donated to Lake Lodge #189.
Again I thank you for your time and consideration into the many matters at hand. As always, let us endeavor to always remember our obligation.
Fraternally,
Joe Barlow WM Forest Lodge #130
