Greetings from the East!

Brothers, I hope you are having a great summer. Days keep getting nicer, grills are fired up and hopefully being used frequently. Enjoy this time with your family and friends, but let’s not forget the less fortunate that need our attention. Keep in mind our mission and our duties as Masons.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Our new Grand Master of Masons in Wisconsin, Paul Tourville, has requested that all Lodges in the state “Don’t Turn The Lights Out”. This means that he would prefer Lodges to continue having meetings and activities during the summer, and not to go dark, to keep the light of Masonry shining brightly in our community. Forest Lodge is following this suggestion by the Grand Master, so we will continue to have stated meetings in July and August.

On May 21, 2022, members of the Widow’s Committee delivered plants to all of the widows of Forest Lodge who live in the Wausau area. The ladies truly appreciated the gift of a hanging basket, that will last throughout the summer, reminding them of our continued commitment and support for them each and every day. Thanks to the Brothers who assisted with this effort.

Thanks to the Brothers of Forest Lodge and the Worshipful Master’s lady who helped with the highway cleanup on May 22, 2022. The stretch of Highway N from Bittersweet Road to Red Bud Road looks fantastic again! The group was able to cover two miles of road, which equates to four miles of dirty ditches, in 3 hours!

Forest Lodge was very well represented at the Grand Lodge Annual Communication in Madison on June 3-4, although not all of the Brothers from our Lodge were there to represent Forest Lodge (additional Lodges being represented were Island City, Medford, Perseverance Lodge). Brothers in attendance included Rick Schnabel, Lars Framness, Albie Kramer, Barry Diehl, Jesse Furrer, Jake Seever, David Imlah, Will MacKay, Rick Rausch, Ryan Wojicechowski, and Barry Maxfield. Thanks to all of you for your attendance at this important session.

It was our pleasure to welcome Brother Jon Eberhardt into the care of our Fraternity on June 22, 2022, when he was initiated an Entered Apprentice. It was a very special evening. Brother Eberhardt is an excellent addition to our Lodge and it is my belief that he will contribute to Forest Lodge for years to come.

Forest Lodge is planning an outdoor Master Mason degree for Saturday, August 27, 2022. The event will take place at the property of Brother Barry Maxfield, located at 244509 Berlin Lane, Merrill. This is about 10 miles northwest of Forest Lodge. The degree will start at 11:00 AM with a lunch at Noon, following the First Section of the degree. Reservations are required for the lunch, and can be made by calling or texting WM Rick Schnabel.

If anyone has any questions or concerns during the summer months, please reach out to me.

See you at Lodge!

Sincerely and Fraternally,
Rick Schnabel
Worshipful Master, Forest Lodge #130
