Greetings from the East!
Time is moving along way too fast as we are already in March. Another month has passed, and like the month we are now in, we must march forward. We are now in the gateway month for ending winter and moving into spring. Winter is still here, but its power is weakening day by day. The days are getting longer, and soon we will find ourselves surrounded by the revitalizing life of Spring!
Congratulations to our newly made Brother Matthew Meyers on being accepted into our ancient and honorable fraternity. We initiated Brother Matthew on January 26th as an Entered Apprentice, and his time in the quarries has commenced under the mentoring of our Junior Deacon. Welcome to an exciting Masonic journey.
At our recent Entered Apprentice degrees held at the lodge, as I listened to the Third Section Lecture, I sat and pondered about the four cardinal virtues of Masonry spoken in that lecture: Temperance, Fortitude, Prudence and Justice, and how are we practicing them in and out of the Lodge. We have to first subdue OUR passions, before passing judgement onto others. I believe that this is a first step toward unity and brotherly love. Both are an essential need for that harmony which must prevail in every successful Masonic lodge.
At our stated meeting on February 9th, we had a Masonic Spelling Bee. This was a fun and educational time at our meeting. Thanks to everyone who participated.
The play “The Last Full Measure”, will be presented on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at 3:30 PM at the Eau Claire Masonic Center (616 Graham Ave, Eau Claire), in conjunction with the Eau Claire Scottish Rite Reunion. This play is open to ALL Masons – refer to the poster in this Trestleboard for more details. The cast members performing the play are Brothers from Forest Lodge #130. Come and witness this amazing performance by our Lodge Brothers!
For Brothers who have not been able to attend lodge for various reasons, if you have any reports of sickness and distress, please let us know so that we may send our prayers and light to you and loved ones.
Always remember brothers, we should forever use our trowel to spread the cement of brotherly love and affection, and use the compasses to circumscribe our words and actions. It is through the proper use of our Masonic implements that we shall represent Freemasonry in everything we do; it will be no secret that we are Masons; lots of people will know and they WILL judge Freemasonry as a whole by OUR actions.
See you at Lodge!
Sincerely and Fraternally,
Rick Schnabel
Worshipful Master, Forest Lodge #130
