We have left behind the lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer, and we are at labor. On Saturday, September 24th we had a glorious event: The Forest Lodge No. 130 sesquicentennial anniversary celebration. The evening began with the Lodge Reconsecration by Right Worshipful Grand Master Davey L. White, Jr., and other Grand Lodge Officers, and ended with a superb Prime Rib dinner prepared by our own Chef, Bro. Tony Fondell, PM.
First let us recognize and congratulate the fine work done by the planning committee. Everything came off like clockwork, including ending at the targeted time. Bro. Jesse Furrer, Chaplain, is to be recognized for his spearheading the entire project; Bro. Jim Carlson, Sr. Deacon, for developing the dinner time script and serving as M.C.; Bro. Joe Barlow, PM, as the quintessential Toastmaster; Bro. Roger Hancock, PM and Secretary, for presenting the History of Forest Lodge No. 130, and let us not forget the wine stewards who kept our toasting cannons filled: Bro. Dan Maguire, Sr. Deacon and Bro. Eric Pohjola. (I hope I haven’t missed anyone, if so please accept my apology.) What a night!
It would have not been the success it was if we hadn’t had the attendance of Brothers from other Lodges and guests. Thanks to all who participated in the event. My deepest appreciation to all of you for your hard work.
We also have new candidates who will be receiving the degrees of Masonry beginning with Mr. Jeff Treager being initiated an Entered Apprentice on October 5th.
We need you to continue our successful presence in Wausau. Remember, the starting point for all achievement is desire. Keep this constantly in mind when thinking of your Lodge.

Wisconsin Valley Shrine Club meets every Friday for a noon luncheon at the Wausau Elks Club.
Wausau York Rite
Oct 8th — 7:00 PM Stated Meeting – Commandery
Oct 20th — 7:00 PM Stated Meeting – Council
Scottish Rite Club
Meets for breakfast at 7:00 AM 1st, 3rd and 5th Wednesdays at Perkins.
Wisconsin Valley Auxiliary
Wisconsin Valley Shrine Auxiliary will meet Friday, October 14, 2011 for a noon luncheon and meeting at the Elks Club. The program will be presented by Lisa Eisenman. She is a music therapist with Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. At the meeting we will take the annual monetary Christmas collection for the children at Shiners Hospital, Twin Cities.
